TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Two school issues with strong conservative backing are on the state tax commission's agenda.
The
panel is reconsidering a previously defeated proposal to undo a state Supreme Court ruling. It struck down one school voucher
program and might threaten others. Vouchers allow students to attend private schools at public expense.
The other
proposed state constitutional amendment would require schools to spend at least 65 percent of their budgets in the classroom.
They
are the last measures the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission is to consider until it meets again in 20 years.
